This is me. My name is Jonathan, but everyone in my life calls me Jono. It’s pronounced like U2’s frontman, Bono. This makes sense because Bono’s real name is Bonathan.

So, what's my story?

I’m a maker. A storyteller whose leadership helps brands move faster and connect deeper. With 20+ years in entertainment, marketing, creative, production, branded content, and media partnerships, I’m a Swiss Army Knife in creating work that cuts through the noise and strikes heavily into cultural relevance.

As an embedded Creative Lead within Novartis’s marketing organization, I help steer content creative, production, and media partnerships for a diverse portfolio of medicines and therapies. I specialize in forging highly collaborative relationships with our internal brand and strategy teams, external creative, PR, and media agencies, as well as top-tier production and media companies, to create and deliver authentic, impactful, human-focused health stories. I’ve achieved success in integrating AI systems to aid strategy, creative and the production processes, all while maintaining humanity at the content’s core. Whether guiding a national campaign or an agile social production, my focus is on creative excellence and brand alignment.

Prior to Novartis, I was VP Creative Director of Content and Brand Partnerships at Leo Burnett, leading integrated campaigns across social, digital, linear, and experiential platforms. Before that, as VP Director of Content and Partnerships at Starcom, I created consumer experiences for brands like Kellogg’s, Best Buy, Lowe’s, Samsung, Beam Suntory, Kraft Heinz, and Red Bull. Earlier in my career, I helped build and lead in-house content studios at We Are Unlimited/DDB, Y&R Chicago, and Cavalry, producing best-in-class creative for clients including McDonald’s, Nike, Hilton Hotels and Miller-Coors.

I started out in entertainment, writing, producing, directing, and editing linear, digital and social content for national TV networks including Esquire NetworkG4, E!, and Style Network.

On a personal note, I love pizza, tacos, art, photography, filmmaking, music, music videos, TV, nature, and powerful bodies of water. I enjoy fixing things, grilling, good friends, my family, camping, a great cocktail, and laughing until I cry. I believe in humility, empathy, leading by example, and the simple truth that kindness is the strongest force on earth.

I do, however, have mixed feelings about cilantro, and find matching socks after doing laundry to be one of life’s great tediums.
